John Morris is an American voice actor best known for bringing Andy Davis to life in Pixar’s groundbreaking Toy Story franchise. His warm and natural performance helped establish the emotional connection between Andy and his beloved toys, making the character an essential part of one of the most successful and influential animated film series in motion-picture history.

Morris was cast as Andy while still a child. During his audition, he reportedly brought along a collection of action figures and performed different voices while playing with them, capturing the imagination and enthusiasm the filmmakers wanted for the character. He made his debut as Andy in the original Toy Story in 1995 and returned for Toy Story 2 in 1999.

More than a decade later, Morris reprised the role in Toy Story 3, allowing audiences to hear Andy grow from an imaginative young boy into a college-bound adult preparing to leave his childhood behind. His heartfelt performance was central to the film’s emotional conclusion, particularly the memorable scene in which Andy passes his treasured toys on to Bonnie. Archival recordings of his voice were also featured in Toy Story 4.

Beyond the Toy Story films, Morris provided the voice of Santa Boy in Tim Burton’s The Nightmare Before Christmas and voiced the adventurous Pepper Roni in the popular 1997 computer game Lego Island. He also contributed to Toy Story video games and other animated projects.

Morris later studied theater, film and television at UCLA. His portrayal of Andy remains his most celebrated work and has earned him a special place in animation history among generations of Disney and Pixar fans.
