Mark DeCarlo is an American actor, voice artist, comedian, television host, author and travel personality whose versatile career has spanned animation, game shows, sitcoms and food programming. He is best known to animation fans as the voice of Hugh Neutron, Jimmy’s eccentric, duck-loving father in Nickelodeon’s Jimmy Neutron franchise.

DeCarlo originated the role of Hugh in the Academy Award-nominated animated film Jimmy Neutron: Boy Genius and continued voicing the character throughout The Adventures of Jimmy Neutron, Boy Genius, the Jimmy Timmy Power Hour specials and several video games. His hilariously enthusiastic performance helped make Hugh one of the franchise’s most popular characters. Years later, the character found a new generation of fans through internet memes and the “Hugh Nation” movement, which successfully campaigned for Hugh to become a playable fighter in Nickelodeon All-Star Brawl.

His extensive voiceover career also includes work on Rugrats, Aaahh!!! Real Monsters, Johnny Bravo, Family Guy, Back at the Barnyard, Planet Sheen, Handy Manny, The Loud House and the cult-favorite Thumb parody films. As an on-camera actor, DeCarlo has appeared in Seinfeld, Curb Your Enthusiasm, Boy Meets World, Matlock, Malcolm in the Middle, The Middle, The Thundermans, Lucifer and The Rookie. His movie credits include Buffy the Vampire Slayer, Saved by the Bell: Wedding in Las Vegas, Raising Helen and Fifty Shades Darker.

Before becoming widely known as Hugh Neutron, DeCarlo gained national attention as the energetic host of the popular 1990s dating game show Studs. He later hosted Big Deal, The X Show and the Travel Channel series Taste of America with Mark DeCarlo. His work as a television personality and contributor to Chicago’s Windy City Live earned him three local Emmy Awards.

A Chicago native and UCLA graduate, DeCarlo is also a passionate food and travel expert. He authored the comedic travelogue and cookbook A Fork on the Road: 400 Cities, 1 Stomach and has continued exploring food, culture and entertainment through podcasts and digital programming. His humor, unmistakable voice and engaging personality have made him a favorite among animation favorite among animation fans and television audiences for decades.
